I had been trying to organise a trip to the States with a group of friends to ride Route 66 for a couple of years, with limited success. We wanted to take in as much as we could hassle free. It was all about the experience, and seeing first hand what us Aussies had only read about and heard in song. If you have seen the documentary that Billy Connolly did on Route 66, well our trips left that for dead.

I found the Route 66 Discovery Tour website as I scrolled through the net and started some dialogue with Brian and Norman from Realworld/Integrity travel. The plan came together very quickly and with no fuss. A great job. Airfares, Bike hire, tour program, accommodation all came into place with ease. We even crafted in some of our own attractions and deviations from the original route to take in Vegas, Helicopter flights, and a few days in Hawaii on the way home.

All we had to worry about was what to cram into our bags. Brian and Norman dealt with all the areas that had us circling previously. We were even fortunate that a few of our group chose to travel by car, and for bike riders, that meant no gear to carry.

I have travelled a lot on business overseas and quite a bit in Aust on motorbikes. This was my first real holiday overseas to do something new and exciting, and it lived up to my expectations. Many of the folks we travelled with we had never met before, and even today we are still swapping photos, videos and stories of the trip.

I had a dream on my "Bucket List" and Brian and and his team ticked all the boxes... and I have the photos to prove it. Thanks Guys.
